The Kids Want Communism, curated by Joshua Simon, uses communism as a horizon. This horizon gives a perspective on the world which we live in today. Throughout 2016, The Kids Want Communism took place at a variety of locations. Among them Tranzit, Prague, The Visual Culture Research Center, Kyiv, Free/Slow University Warsaw, State of Concept, Athens, Skuc gallery, Ljubljana, and MoBY-Museums of Bat Yam. The Kids Want Communism, on view in Berlin from September to November in 2017, will be the culmination of its presentation and related events elsewhere and will overlap with the centennial of the Bolshevik Revolution. It will be framed by several events that will take place in the city of Berlin and in the building where the Kunstraum Kreuzberg is located: Berlin Art Week, 150th Anniversary to Karl Marx’s capital (1867), launch of The Kids Want Communism book, and an international conference dedicated to 100th anniversary of the October Revolution.
