Artis Presents

February 1–27, 2011

New York City

Artis welcomed Dana Yahalomi, co-leader of Public Movement for a month-long artist residency and research period in New York in preparation for a public performance in 2012. Yahalomi examined issues surrounding public and private space; the history of art and activism in New York; the culture of memorials, monuments and commemoration; and disaster and emergency relief efforts within the urban environment. The residency culminated in a talk on February 27 at the New Museum on Public Movement’s actions from 2006-10.
